Student Internships

Student Internship

Project

Research at Vitrotem has two main directions:

First is the assembly and study of graphene liquid cells, in close collaboration with various research institutes across the Netherlands. You will gain hands-on experience in fabrication graphene liquid cells for ultra-high resolution imaging. You will encounter a range of biological samples including extracellular vesicles, DNA-origami’s and collagen fibrils.

Secondly, Vitrotem pursues in-house research aimed to improve the fabrication of high-quality graphene. Internships in this project focus on the growth of graphene by chemical vapor deposition. Furthermore, you will learn to characterize graphene using, Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and other methods.

Your profile

  • MSc student or final year HBO/BSc student
  • Chemistry, Physics, Bio-nanotechnology, or similar disciplines
  • Eager to learn from onboard training
  • Drive to become an independent researcher
  • Available for minimally 4 months full-time, or equivalent

What we offer

You will become a part of our vibrant startup in the field of disruptive technology. We offer both internships and student jobs. Depending on your internship goals, you will be able to become trained in cleanroom work and advanced characterization techniques such as ultramicroscopy and spectroscopy.
